Stress management is one of the most underrated skills for effective multitasking. Many people can’t perform at their very best because they have not mastered the art of keeping a clear mind under pressure.

This article how 38-year-old Reddit CEO and founder Steve Huffman manages the stress of being a working parent.

7:30 A.M. – Waking Up

Huffman prefers waking up to a natural sound, such as that of his one-year-old daughter. He treats this as a competition between him and his girlfriend: The first person to get a smile from their daughter wins.

8:30 A.M. – Weightlifting Session

Huffman usually starts the day by visiting Equinox for his weight training program. The weightlifting session helps him maintain his fitness. As a believer in intermittent fasting, Huffman skips breakfast and doesn’t eat his first meal until lunchtime.

10:00 A.M. – Special Assignment

On Thursdays, Huffman has a weekly assignment: A virtual meeting with all his 1300 employees. What seems like a definite convenience is actually a challenge because Huffman prefers to bike or run to the Reddit office instead of working from home.

12:A.M. – Time to Break the Fast

Huffman doesn’t like breaking his fast with chunky foods. You can often find him eating either a smorgasbord of dairy protein like yogurt, cottage cheese, and milk.

2:00 P.M. – Attend to Your Body’s Needs

Huffman always tells people to attend to their body’s needs if they truly want to be productive. This entails eating at the appropriate times, getting some rest if your body asks for it, and so on.

6:15 P.M. – Meal Choices

Huffman doesn’t cook his meals, primarily because neither he nor his wife is a good cook. Instead, he likes ordering meals from a local Chinese spot.

10 P.M.Retiring to Bed

Huffman sees reading as a great habit to get ready for bed. Every night, he reads from one book that catches his attention.
